  Suite aux mesures prises cette semaine par le gouvernement fran\u00e7ais, et \u00e0 la d\u00e9t\u00e9rioration sanitaire due \u00e0 la pand\u00e9mie de la COVID -19 en France, le comit\u00e9 d\u2019organisation du Meeting international d\u2019Athl\u00e9tisme et son directeur Pascal SCHULER, ont pris la d\u00e9cision d\u2019annuler l\u2019\u00e9dition de 2021 qui devait se tenir le 30 mai prochain.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les contraintes sont malheureusement trop fortes, les perspectives peu r\u00e9jouissantes, et d\u2019ici fin mai, il ne nous reste que peu de temps pour avoir de r\u00e9elles certitudes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cela ne nous enchantait gu\u00e8re de nous diriger vers un huis clos en sachant que le Meeting de Forbach attire des milliers de spectateurs et qu\u2019il est une v\u00e9ritable f\u00eate de l\u2019athl\u00e9tisme et du sport, tant attendue par la population forbachoise et celle de la r\u00e9gion Grand-Est, dans le magnifique \u00e9crin de verdure du Stade du Schlossberg.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

De plus, la Coupe d\u2019Europe Elite des Nations, initialement pr\u00e9vue les 19 et 20 juin 2021, a \u00e9t\u00e9 avanc\u00e9e au 29\/30 mai, la date de notre meeting, ce qui nous priverait des meilleurs fran\u00e7ais et europ\u00e9ens, notamment dans les concours.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sur le plan logistique la fermeture des fronti\u00e8res avec l\u2019Allemagne et le Luxembourg, nous pose \u00e9galement des soucis,<\/s> puisque de nombreux athl\u00e8tes \u00e9trangers sont r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9s aux a\u00e9roports de Francfort et Luxembourg.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Au niveau de \u00ab l\u2019h\u00f4tel des athl\u00e8tes \u00bb, nous serions oblig\u00e9s de mettre en place une bulle sanitaire qui r\u00e9duirait consid\u00e9rablement la capacit\u00e9 d\u2019accueil des athl\u00e8tes et des chambres disponibles.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sur le plan de l\u2019organisation, avec nos 6 concours, en dehors des courses, le meeting n\u00e9cessiterait beaucoup plus de jury, que nous aurions probablement du mal \u00e0 r\u00e9unir en ces temps compliqu\u00e9s.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le meeting de Forbach r\u00e9serve toujours une part belle aux meilleurs athl\u00e8tes r\u00e9gionaux, dont beaucoup ne pourraient pas y participer, suite aux restrictions de comp\u00e9tition impos\u00e9es aux athl\u00e8tes amateurs non list\u00e9s.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avec une couverture t\u00e9l\u00e9visuelle compromise et sans spectateurs, il est \u00e9vident que pour nos partenaires, dont la plupart seraient toujours pr\u00eats \u00e0 nous suivre, leur visibilit\u00e9 serait amoindrie.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pour toutes ces raisons, nous avons d\u00e9cid\u00e9 d\u2019annuler l\u2019organisation du meeting de Forbach 2021 et nous vous donnons rendez-vous l\u2019an prochain, comme d\u2019habitude, le dernier dimanche du mois de mai, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire le 29 mai 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

FORBACH INTERNATIONAL ATHLETICS MEETING PRESS RELEASE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CANCELLATION OF THE 2021 EDITION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Following the measures taken by the French government this week, and the deterioration in health due to the COVID -19 pandemic in France, the organizing committee of the international athletics meeting and its director Pascal SCHULER, have taken the decision to cancel the 2021 edition which was to be held on 30 May 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are sorry, but the constraints are unfortunately too strong with a gloomy outlook by the end of May, and the little time we have left to be certain.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A priori, by moving towards a closed door, this does not enchant us, knowing that the Meeting de Forbach attracts thousands of spectators and is a real celebration of athletics and sport, long awaited by the population of Forbach, from the Grand-Est and cross-border region, in the magnificent green setting of the Schlossberg Stadium.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The European Elite Nations Cup, initially planned for June 19 and 20, 2021, has been advanced to the date of our meeting, which would deprive us of the best French and Europeans, especially in the competitions and some races.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From a logistical point of view, the closing of the borders with Germany and Luxembourg is also a problem for us, because a large part of foreign athletes are picked up at the airports of Frankfort and Luxembourg.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the level of the \u00ab\u00a0athlete hotel\u00a0\u00bb, we would be obliged to set up a sanitary bubble which would also considerably reduce the capacity to accommodate athletes and the rooms available.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of organization, with our 6 competitions, apart from the races, the meeting would require a lot of jury, that we would find together with difficulty in these complicated times.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Forbach meeting still reserves a large part for the best regional athletes, many of them could not participate, due to competition restrictions for unlisted amateur athletes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For our partners who are always ready to follow us for most of them, with compromised television coverage, it is obvious that their visibility, without spectators, would be less.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For all these reasons, we decided to cancel the organization of the Forbach 2021 athletics meeting and we look forward to see  you next year, as usual, on the last Sunday of May on the 29th. May 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
